World of Warcraft: History of League of Arathor Faction

The League of Arathor was originally established by the survivors of the Kingdom of Stromgarde to reclaim the Arathi Highlands from the hands of the Forsaken Defilers in Hammerfall. Today it is an organization in support of the Alliance, based out of the Arathi Basin in Refuge Pointe. They have taken it upon themselves to help supply the Alliance forces where needed, and their members include all manner of Alliance races - even though they are still predominantly Stromgardian humans.

Players can earn reputation in this faction by participating in the Arathi Basin Battleground. When you fight in Arathi Basin you earn 18-19 reputation each 130 resources. On Arathi Basin holiday weekends the required resources is reduced to 100.
As of Patch 2.0.1, you no longer get reputation for turning in [Arathi Basin Marks of Honor], they are instead used to buy PvP rewards.
Leader: Sir Maximus Adams (formely), Radulf Leder (currently)
Races: Human
Base of operations: Refuge Point, Arathi Highlands

World of Warcraft: History and Geography of Coldridge Valley

Coldridge Valley is the starting area for young dwarven recruits, and contains the base camp of Anvilmar. It is located in the southwestern corner of Dun Morogh and is linked to the greater area by Coldridge Pass to the northeast. The road through the pass leads through a tunnel which is infested with trogg raiders. It continues east and then north through Kharanos, and further winds up the mountains terminating into the dwarven capital of Ironforge.
Coldridge Valley contains three small camps where dwarves and gnomes receive missions to defend the region from the encroaching Troggs, trolls, and wildlife. Other tasks such as collecting gear parts to delivering hot stew are found here as well. When the young recruits are deemed ready to move on, they are sent out through the pass.
This area of Dun Morogh has creatures level 1 to 5.

Cataclysm
In the Cataclysm expansion, the Gnomeregan Exiles have been given their own unique starting point at the Train Depot in Gnomeregan which is separate from the Dwarves of Ironforge who still spawn in Coldridge Valley.
